Natalie was delighted to speak to the Academy of Assisted Reprodutive Technology Attorneys conference in Montreal, Canada in May 2017.
To an audience of global fertility lawyers, she shared the UK perspective on managing long term welfare issues for donor and surrogacy-conceived children. She talked about the importance of intended parents being open and comfortable with their children about how they came into the world from an early age, and being educated about that by all the professionals who engage with them at the time they are considering conceiving through collaborative reproduction.
She also talked about law changes in the UK to move towards donors being identifiable from 2005, and how it had a surprisingly positive rather than negative impact on the numbers of egg and sperm donors coming forward.
